Anthropic Will Pay You $85,000 a Year to Learn AI

On June 11, 2026, Anthropic announced Claude Corps, committing an initial $150 million to train 1,000 early-career people to use Claude well and place them inside nonprofits across America. Fellows get a full-time salary of $85,000 plus benefits for a year. Here is a clear walkthrough of the program:

How it works

You would not actually work at Anthropic. You would work full-time and in-person at a host nonprofit, a food bank, a YMCA, a refugee resettlement office, showing staff how to use Claude. At least 400 nonprofits will host fellows, including the International Rescue Committee, Goodwill, RAINN, and Code for America.

Anthropic funds the program and provides the AI expertise, CodePath is the official employer that runs training, and Social Finance handles measurement. Training includes an intensive bootcamp on prompt design, the Claude API, and AI evaluations, plus five hours of structured training every week, office hours with Anthropic staff, and a budget of Claude API credits.

Who can apply

The requirements are unusually open. You need to be 18 or older, have US work authorization, have less than two years of full-time work experience, be comfortable working with Claude, and be willing to relocate.

No degree is required. The application even includes two short AI training modules, AI Fluency and Claude 101, so the program can see how you prompt and adjust. The first cohort of 100 fellows starts in October 2026, with later cohorts in 2027, and applications for the first group close on July 17, 2026.
