NVIDIA's 2026 State of AI report, drawn from more than 3,200 enterprise respondents across financial services, retail, healthcare, and manufacturing, reveals that 86% of companies plan to increase their AI budgets this year, with nearly 40% projecting increases of 10% or more.

North American organisations lead the charge, with 48% of respondents planning double-digit budget growth.

The top spending priority across industries is optimising existing AI workflows and improving production cycle efficiency, cited by 42% of respondents, followed by finding additional use cases for AI across the enterprise.

The financial services, retail, and healthcare sectors reported the strongest early ROI results, driven by applications in fraud detection, inventory management, and diagnostic support respectively.

NVIDIA AI Report: Agentic AI Moves From Pilot to Production Deployment

The report also documents the rapid maturation of agentic AI — systems designed to autonomously reason, plan, and execute multi-step tasks — from experimental pilots in 2025 to active production deployments in early 2026.

Telecommunications saw the highest adoption rate of agentic AI at 48%, followed by retail and consumer packaged goods at 47%. Real-world deployments now span code development, legal and financial document processing, administrative support, and clinical patient management.

The shift from single-task AI tools to autonomous agents that can coordinate across multiple systems and workflows represents the most significant change in enterprise AI deployment patterns since the original generative AI wave.

For SaaS businesses and digital agencies, the implication is that AI adoption among their clients is no longer a future consideration but an active operational reality requiring strategy-level attention.
