Opera AI Upgrade Bring New Features to Android Browser

Opera has rolled out a significant Opera AI upgrade for its Android browser, bringing it closer to the capabilities of its desktop counterpart, Opera One. This new update enhances the mobile browsing experience by allowing users to interact with AI in more dynamic ways, including the ability to upload files, take pictures, and use webpage context for AI-driven queries.

Key AI Features in the Latest Opera AI Upgrade

Opera AI upgrade is designed to make browsing and interaction more intuitive. The Opera AI upgrade includes:

• Ask AI in the Search Bar:
  A new Ask AI option is now available directly within the search bar. Users can easily switch between traditional web search and AI queries, streamlining their browsing experience.
• Attach Files for AI Analysis:
  Users can now upload files from their Android device or take pictures to have them processed by the AI. The AI can perform tasks such as translations, explanations, and answering follow-up questions related to the attached content.

• How to attach content:
  1. Open the Ask AI interface in the search bar
  2. Tap the “+” icon below the input field
  3. Choose a document or take a picture with the camera
  4. Use the attached content as context for AI queries
• Webpage Context for AI:
  Opera’s update allows the AI to access the current webpage being viewed to provide more accurate responses. The AI will automatically use the webpage as context, eliminating the need for users to restate information. How to use page context:
  1. Open any webpage in Opera for Android
  2. Tap the three dots in the top-right corner
  3. Select the Ask AI option, which will automatically include the webpage as context

Privacy and Data Handling

Opera emphasizes that the AI can only access the content of the specific tab the user is working in. Any data, including page context and prompts, is encrypted, stored for up to 30 days to support ongoing conversations, and then automatically deleted. The data is not used for AI training, advertising, or any other purpose.

Availability

The Opera AI upgrade is now available for Opera for Android users. If the features are not yet visible, users can update the browser via the Google Play Store.
